Blessing and Dedication of Wall Hangings

September 20, 2015
150th Anniversary of Christ church Exeter

Today we are thankful to add to and complete our set of wall hangings created by Maine artist Kathie Krause Iannicelli.  Kathie grew up in Exeter. She graduated from Abbot Academy in Andover, MA, and Boston Museum School. She briefly taught at Phillips Exeter in the Art Department, and went on to have a long association with Portsmouth's Theatre- by- the- Sea as a costume and set designer. She was married to actor, Tom Celli; they and their two children, Angela and Alexander lived in Newfields. She moved to Monhegan Island, Maine where she started a gardening business and more recently, a farming project. The twelve hangings now in the church have been in production since 1977.

Tapestry 06, “Creation of the Cosmos” was inspired by the hymn Spacious Firmament on High. Tapestry 07is a kind of love letter to our part of the earth, our home in New Hampshire during the spring when the world around us is just about to burst into new life.
